LONDON THEATRE & the GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

*June 18th – June  25th, 2007

Our tour begins with a short London section that  includes private touring with a guide and driver plus two West End theatre productions of your choice.  Following three nights in London we travel south to Portsmouth, our headquarters for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. You have the option of joining this tour on Day 1,  which includes the London section or Day 4 that includes the Festival of Speed only.

WHAT TO EXPECT:  A London section that is busy.  Two full days of touring with private guides and two theatre productions in the evening.  The touring will be adjusted to suit you – your guides will custom each day to your specific interests.  Your visit to the Goodwood Festival of Speed includes admission to the VIP hospitality suites.  Reserved for just a few of the large attendees, not only do you get track side viewing but the privacy of your own marquee which includes breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea and continuous service of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Paddock access is also offered, an opportunity to see the cars up close and mix with both drivers and celebrities.  Included in your welcome packet will be a souvenir program and ear set to tune into Radio Goodwood throughout the week-end.

DAY  1    Arrival at London's Heathrow airport where you are met by your tour guide, Steve Austin (please note that your departure out of the US would be June 17th).   We transfer by private coach to the Marriott Park Lane Hotel.  The remainder of the afternoon at leisure before a welcome cocktail gathering and dinner at the hotel.

DAY  2    This morning you are met by your chauffeur/guide and whisked off to visit the city.  Each vehicle will carry four persons unless you are traveling with a group of friends where we can arrange a vehicle for six persons.  With input from your guide you will have a very full day.  This evening you have excellent seats for a West End show of your choice (information on   shows will be supplied to you four months prior to the tour).

DAY  3    Another day with your chauffeur/guide.  You can choose more of the City or maybe a trip to Stonehenge and Bath or Stratford–upon-Avon or maybe even a visit to the RAF ‘Battle of Britain’ museum – again you will be supplied with information on all available programs.  Again this evening another West End show .

DAY  4   Today we depart for the south of England and Goodwood.  Our four star hotel, the Portsmouth Marriott will be our home for the next four nights.  This evening, dinner is at the hotel and our guest speaker is ‘Speed Channel’ personality, ex-Formula 1 driver, team manager and present historic racer and archivist, Alain de Cadenet.

DAY  5   This morning we visit the leading historic car collection of Lord Montague’s ‘National Motor Museum’ at nearby Beaulieu.  This afternoon we start our week-end at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.  Today is practice and qualifying.  For the afternoon we have general entry to the event allowing you to visit all the exhibits, shops. displays and of course the course.  In the middle of the afternoon we have a private preview to this evenings collector car auction by Bonham's.  We have also arranged for free admission to this evenings Auction.

DAY 6  For Saturday and Sunday you are provided with VIP passes to the Private Pavilion’s and also access to the Paddocks.  Again we are met by Alain de Cadenet who will lead us on a tour through the Formula 1 Paddoc, his knowledge of the cars and the event is quite remarkable.  Many famous drivers will be in the paddock and with Alain's help we should have the chance to hear from one or two of them including Le Mans winner Richard Attwood.  Saturday offers great opportunities to mix with many of the drivers.  Your Pavilion serves breakfast, lunch and high tea plus beverages throughout the day, its location also allows for track viewing. During the day we are joined in our private marquee by F1’s Peter Windsor.   This evening dinner is at your leisure.

DAY  7    A full day to enjoy the Goodwood Festival of Speed.  Once again your VIP passes allow you to thoroughly enjoy all aspects of this great event.  While the event may be a showcase of exceptional machinery, from the inception of cars up to the most modern Formula 1, the competitive spirit of the drivers makes each run a flat out affair. Nowhere will you have such close proximity to both great cars and drivers alike  At midday the RAF ‘Red Arrows’ present a spectacular air display.  We have made available additional seating in the Grandstands to get maximum enjoyment from the day’s racing.  This evening we are joined for dinner by the great F1 driver and 5 time winner of Le Mans, Derek Bell.

DAY  8     This morning our tour concludes.  There will be departures throughout the morning for Heathrow Airport for your connections to the USA or your on-going travel.

Please note that our guest speakers may be replaced if those scheduled are unable to attend the event.

 THE GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the biggest celebration of motor sport in the world.  It embraces cars from the very earliest steam carriages to the latest Formula 1.  Racing cars and bikes come from all over the world and this is the only event outside the Grand Prix circuit attended by many of the current Formula 1 teams.  The London Times described The Festival as “the Garden Party of the Gods”, while The Telegraph has called it “The Greatest Show on Earth”.   Our hospitality arrangements for The Festival provide a unique and mesmerizing mix of close-up motorsport action and exceptional personal service.  Nowhere else in the world can the shattering performance of Formula 1 cars and the nostalgia and heroism of the full spectrum of motor racing past and present be experienced so intimately.
